Hi everyone!
I'm having such a great internship experience here at Dwellworks! I cannot believe how much I've grown and how much I've learned in the past eleven weeks. Recruiting has been a large part of my internship. I currently post job openings online and review resumes for open positions in ADP. Then I take the potential candidates and schedule interviews and conduct phone screen interviews for all of our locations. I also ask questions during on-site interviews and make offers to our new employees! I have designed "Two Week Check-In" emails for new employees and managers to make sure new employees feel welcome and are adjusting well to their new position.
As part of the internship program, all of the interns in the Downtown Cleveland office worked together to make a video about Dwellwork's five values: integrity, teamwork, performance, innovation, and fun. We also helped BPI by making posters for all of the different offices for employees to present their new ideas to the team. Amanda, Meagan, and I made a poster for the New York office and decorated it with plenty of fabric and glitter!

I'm really happy that I was given this opportunity to work at Dwellworks. During this internship, I was always treated more like an employee rather than an intern. When meeting candidates during interviews I was always introduced as "part of the HR team" and not "an intern." I love this internship because I was given duties and responsibilities that contributed to the success of the company. Even though filing papers was part of my responsibility, it never took up the majority of my day and nobody ever asked me to go and get them coffee. :) I really enjoy working with the HR department here and couldn't have asked for better people to work with!

Hi Everyone!
This week was a nice four day week with having off Wednesday for the 4th of July! We celebrated the holiday in the office almost every day this week. We had a Civics Test contest on Monday, pizza and pasta on Tuesday, and Popsicles on Thursday. Today we're having a scavenger hunt around the office to find pictures of Uncle Sam and Bald Eagles. Having Wednesday off really made this week fly by!

I have been working on making Orientation Surveys, 30 Day Surveys, and 6 Month Surveys for new employees. Earlier this week I made two job offers and it was really cool to see how excited these new employees are to start in their new positions! Yesterday all of the interns got together to start working on our Values Video. We're not sure exactly what we're doing yet, but at least we started coming up with a few ideas.

This week we have been very busy in the HR department! I've been doing many phone screen interviews and scheduling interviews for all of the offices. On Wednesday I got to ask questions during an interview which was really cool! My favorite part of this past week was making my first job offer to someone. She was so excited on the phone and it made me feel really happy to offer her the position!
I have also been working on our BPI project for the New York office with two other interns this past week. We spent many hours cutting fabric, gluing pictures, and coloring roads for out project. I can't wait to see all of the other intern's projects!

Hi everyone-
Last weekend we found out Dwellworks was ranked 30th best place to work in northeast Ohio by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. HR decorated signs to hang up in the front of the office.
Last weekend we found out Dwellworks was ranked 30th best place to work in northeast Ohio by the Cleveland Plain Dealer. HR decorated signs to hang up in the front of the office.
On Thursday this week all of the interns participated in MAGIC, which is a customer service workshop. MAGIC stands for Make a connection, Act Professionally, Get to the Heart of the matter, Inform and clarify what you will do, and Close with the relationship in mind. It was a lot of fun doing all of the activities with all of the other interns in the Cleveland East office.
Next week I look forward to working on our secret project for BPI!

Hello-
Happy Friday! This was a very busy week at Dwellworks! I have been looking through resumes online, setting up phone screen interviews, asking questions during phone screen interviews by myself, and sitting in on the interviews in our conference room. Being able to do the phone screen interviews by myself is a lot of fun! I have also been working on New Hire Surveys to send out after 30 days and 6 months after employees’ start, in addition to New Hire Emails to send out to new employees after they accept the position.
Today we celebrated June birthdays in the kitchen with a birthday breakfast. We had blueberry doughnuts- my favorite! All of the new hires and interns had to answer a few funny questions from Would You Rather in front of everyone in the kitchen. It's amazing how many people would rather walk up Sears Tower with a 40 pound backpack instead of a pebble in their shoe!

Hello-
This week in HR I have been able to help out a lot with interviews and different projects! I listened to a few different phone screen interviews and I was able to sit-in for a couple interviews in the office. My favorite part about this week was being able to go through the resumes by myself and post jobs online. Everyone in the HR department is very helpful and I really enjoy working with them!

Last week we had Dwellworks 5th Birthday party! We had plenty of food for lunch, a piñata filled with candy, and "Toy Story" playing in the conference room. The best part about the party was the scavenger hunt in the morning. We had to run all around downtown Cleveland and take pictures with different buildings and statues. Above is a picture of Shares Services from the birthday party.

Hi everyone-
My name is Abbey and I am the Human Resources Intern at Dwellworks in Cleveland. I am going to be a senior this year at Baldwin Wallace University. I chose Baldwin Wallace because they have an excellent business school and I like the smaller class sizes. I am double majoring in Human Resource Management and Marketing. I enjoy Human Resources because of the large variety of tasks it includes and there's always something different to do every day. I also like learning about new laws and reading about previous cases.
I am hoping to learn about the many different aspects of Human Resources. I want to be involved in different projects and meetings to really learn what working in Human Resources is like on a daily basis.
For fun I like to hang out with my friends and family. My friends and I love going to Cedar Point and riding all of the roller coasters. At Baldwin Wallace I am the Dancer Relations chair for our Dance Marathon and we raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
