This is my last post. So far this internship has been great I have learned a lot and had lots of fun. When I started this internship I was hoping I would increase my development skills and I have done just that. When I started the developers here told me they do a lot of database programming which I am not familiar with. The first week I went out and bought two books on programming for databases and now I complete many help desk tickets as well as add features and fix issues on our web apps that require changes to our database. I am now confident enough to put databases on my resume. I also have never worked on an enterprise application before with a lot of moving parts and an organized workflow until now.
This internship has been pretty much all software development which is great. The developers here are always helpful and very knowledgeable. Joel the lead developer has been mentoring me and showing me tips and techniques to accomplish tasks with performance, modularity and bugs in mind.
I am very happy with this internship and I am excited to stay on during the year and to keep improving as a developer. It is fun to work with other people who are also passionate about what they do but also have a sense of humor and know how to have fun.
Thanks Dwellworks!

Haven't done too much out of the ordinary this week just been developing. Getting ready for the relo launch of plus on July 23rd.
We started working on the internship video which is a fun project. Given the time constraint we had to drop the idea of the Avengers movie but I think the video will still turn out to be entertaining.

So far the internship has been very challenging and also rewarding. I have been doing development for our Plus Internal Web Application and have made numerous bug fixes and enhancements. At school you don't really get an opportunity to work on large enterprise web applications such as plus so it is excited learning how to work on something so big in a collaborative manner. Fixing these problems is similar to playing puzzle games such as Professor Layton. I am happy I am in a field that is challenging and fun at the same time and I am genuinely excited to come into work to do these things.

This week was a great learning experience. I learned a lot about SQL, C# and asp.net with help from the developers who showed me the basics. I have also been getting to know people around the office by doing help desk. Fixing someone’s computer is a great ice breaker.
Also last week I finished my android app for the scavenger hunt. If anyone has a droid and wants to check it out here is the link:
Or you can find it by simply searching Dwellworks into Google play.

Austin Emser
Hello my name is Austin Emser. I am a senior at Cleveland State University, currently pursuing my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.
I am looking to gain a better understanding of software development in C#/.NET in an enterprise setting. As well as knowledge into SQL and Database concepts.
This internship has been very fun and informative so far. The IT team has been very excited to teach me new things and help me with any questions I have had while starting out.
